Tashi Delek!
With an average elevation of over 4,000 m, Tibet is the highest region in the world, it is also known as the roof of the world, barren and windswept this region still remains relatively isolated even today. Tibet is steeped in both history & culture. Written records have survived from the 7th Century A.D. But it is known that nomadic tribes populated this region as early as the 2nd Century B.C.
More recent times have seen the invasion of China in 1959 and the inevitable dilution of Tibetan culture. Tibet however has managed to, in the main, maintain its unique way of life.
